Martin Niemoeller

"Each politician hopes that if he feeds the crocodile enough, the crocodile will eat him last. All of them hope that the storm will pass before their turn comes to be devoured."

Winston Churchill, (New York Times, 1/21/1940)

"Kites rise highest against the wind - not with it."

"If people do not believe that mathematics is simple, it is only because they do not realize how complicated life is."

John von Neumann
